The Holy Jest

Torn testaments taint the solemn truth,
Probably fades away into a sinful rite,
Greed so dense it shatters all ruth,
Commend those who live out of spite.

Blessed is the one that professes his faith,
His faith that is built on a sea of deception,
Condemned is the one that admits his blemish,
His blemish that is now his old reflection.

Define me for I seek to know,
The ways I am sinister for an innocent demurral,
Define me for I seek to forget,
The ways I'm unwanted in this holy cathedral.
