Inertia of Time

Remember when days were nothing but sheer joy,
Before time stripped away innocence,
When we were lost in the heartbeat of happiness,
How distant are those moments now,
Being eclipsed by the current days of debris.

Remember how we promised consistency,
In the indecence of sudden alteration,
Now we can only dream of a constant life,
In the absence of each other.

Remember how we were limitless,
When your arms,
Were my sanctuary.
